Built in 1820 CE by Muhammad Ali Pasha in memory of his son Ahmad Tusun Pasha, this Ottoman-style sabil-kuttab on al-Muizz Street features a marble-clad rounded façade with five ornate metal windows, Turkish inscriptions, carved wooden eaves, and an underground cistern serving water to passersby. The attached kuttab (Quranic school) is beside—not above—the sabil.
