Built between 1415–1421 CE by Sultan al-Mu’ayyad Shaykh on the site of the prison where he was once held, this late Mamluk-era mosque stands beside Bab Zuwayla on al-Mu’izz Street. Its design features a hypostyle courtyard, marble ablution fountain, twin slender minarets rising from Bab Zuwayla’s towers, a prayer hall, mausoleum dome, and attached hammam.
