Sulayman Pasha al-Khadim Mosque

Built in 1528 CE on the site of a Fatimid mosque, this Ottoman-style mosque inside the Cairo Citadel was commissioned by Sultan’s governor Sulayman Pasha al-Khadim for the Janissaries. It features a central dome surrounded by semi-domes, a pencil-shaped minaret, and a marble mihrab and minbar. It underwent a major restoration and reopened in 2023.
