Opened officially in April 2021, NMEC in Old Cairo chronicles Egypt’s story spanning prehistoric to modern times. Home to over 50,000 artifacts, it features thematic galleries—textiles, beliefs, state and society—and the iconic Royal Mummies Hall, which welcomed Egypt’s ancient rulers via the celebrated “Golden Parade.” Designed by Ghazali Kesseba and Arata Isozaki, the museum integrates interactive displays and cutting-edge conservation.
