Egyptian National Railways Museum

Located at Ramses Station in downtown Cairo, this museum opened in January 1933 to celebrate the International Railway Congress. It traces the history of Egypt’s rail transport from its early beginnings in the mid-19th century with the first railroad between Cairo and Alexandria, through steam locomotives, models, documents and photos. The museum includes over 700 items, train engines, signaling equipment, royal carriages, and exhibits about pre-rail modes of transport.
