Saladin Citadel

The Cairo Citadel is a medieval Islamic-era fortress built by Saladin between 11/01/1176 and completed under al‑Kamil by 12/30/1183. It served as Egypt’s center of government for centuries and houses multiple museums and mosques. Today it provides panoramic views of Cairo and includes the Mosque of Muhammad Ali and the National Military Museum.
